“Their players were playing a good brand of cricket from ball one. They were keeping the tempo, credit goes to their team. We know how the wicket plays at night. We were lucky that there was no dew on the ground. The way we played, played in the World Cup, which reminded us that the game is still far away, whatever works for the team, we will decide that,” Surya Kumar said after the game.

Surya scored a 26-ball 58 during his stay in the middle and was instrumental in setting the tempo of the game. As a result, Suriya was adjudged Man of the Match, equaling Virat Kohli’s world record.
