Islamabad Police of Pakistan had raided the PTI  (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf) rally venue, and removed stage containers barbed wire, and other items. PTI had decided to go ahead with the rally despite the cancellation of the NOC.

This action was taken after the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad canceled the NOC (No Objection Certificate) for the PTI rally. Police said that since the NOC has been canceled, the place is being cleared.

The Islamabad administration stated that no arrests have been made.

Umar Ayub alleged that the current government is scared and trying to block the way of a popular political party.

This is a big blow for Tehreek-e-Insaaf. The Upper Leadership of Imran Khan’s party (PTI) has not taken any major steps to gather a jalsa in the Punjab since Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan is in jail.

According to the Islamabad administration, the decision to suspend the NOC was taken to ensure the safety of citizens keeping in mind the security concerns related to Muharram.

A meeting was held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of the Chief Commissioner, in which it was decided to cancel the NOC of the rally.
