The court says that the reserved decision on Bushra Bibi’s plea of acquittal will be pronounced along with the final decision.
The Rawalpindi Accountability Court has adjourned the hearing of the reference of 190 million pounds against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi till September 7.
The court headed by Judge Nasir Javed Rana conducted the proceedings in Adiala Jail. Both PTI founder and Bushra Bibi appeared during the hearing.
During the session, the defense counsel cross-examined National Accountability Bureau (NAB) investigating officer Mian Umar Nadeem regarding the case. The cross-examination is expected to continue in the next hearing as well.
The court also announced that a reserved judgment on Bushra Bibi’s plea for acquittal would be delivered at the same time as the final judgment in the £190 million reference.
Defense counsel Usman Gul and Chaudhry Zaheer Abbas represented the couple while NAB Prosecutor General Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi, Amjad Parvez and others appeared on behalf of the prosecution.
