A social media post showing two flight attendants wearing the pins drew criticism and prompted Delta to say that only American flag pins would be allowed.
Two Delta Air Lines flight attendants were seen wearing pins depicting the Palestinian flag in a social media post that sparked an online uproar, a bullying response from a Delta employee, and a change in the company’s uniform policy.
The photo, reposted on Wednesday, shows flight attendants in the aisle of a plane with small Palestinian flag pins pinned to their uniforms. The post characterized the pins as “Badges of Hamas”.
The post sparked a wave of criticism on social media aimed at the airline.
“On Wednesday, we removed a response that did not align with our values,” Delta said on social media. “We aim to create a welcoming and respectful environment for everyone in our communities and on our flights. The responsible employee no longer supports Delta’s social channels. We apologize for this hurtful post.”
“The flight attendants pictured were in compliance with Delta uniform guidelines and we are in contact with them to offer assistance,” a Delta spokeswoman said Saturday.
So far this year, there have been nearly 900 reports of passenger incontinence.
Delta’s change to its uniform policy is aimed at reducing these incidents and protecting employee safety, the spokeswoman said, adding that the airline “takes these steps to help ensure a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for all.” Picking up.”
