South Korean artificial intelligence chipmakers Rebellion Inc. and Sapon Korea Inc. have signed a definitive merger agreement, the privately held companies said Sunday.
He announced the merger talks in June. The deal is the latest attempt by South Korean firms to challenge global AI chip leaders such as Nvidia ( NVDA.O ).
Sapeon’s shareholders include SK Telecom ( 017670.KS ), South Korea’s biggest telecom company. and the world’s second-largest memory chip maker SK Hynix (000660.KS).
